At CD PROJEKT, we create revolutionary role-playing games with memorable stories that inspire players. Simultaneously, we aim to positively impact our social environment by acting upon shared values. We build a sense of belonging, share knowledge, and develop skills. Our priority in social engagement encompasses initiatives supporting the local community and the video game industry.
Before commencing any project, we verify the intended effect of the supported initiative and how its impact will be measured. At every stage of the project, we can confirm that the funds we have provided are being used in line with the defined objective.
Our prioritized areas of social engagement, along with examples of specific projects, include:
Promoting the gaming industry’s openness to diversity, creativity, and innovation
- Girls in the Game! is our social engagement program, conducted in partnership with the Perspektywy Foundation, targeting high school students. We offer an annual scholarship, mentoring from our specialists, and the opportunity to experience game development from within. Our goal is to support young talent, strengthen their self-confidence, and build a community based on trust. Graduates return to us as Mentee Buddies, supporting subsequent participants and sharing their experiences. The program also develops us – 100% of mentors confirmed that their participation positively influenced their professional development and leadership competencies.
Counteracting social exclusion
- support for a CD PROJEKT employee’s participation in Polish, European, and World Cup championships in wheelchair fencing.
- participation in the “Parada Równości” (Pride Parade) – providing a donation to foundations supporting the LGBTQ+ community, earmarked for legal and psychological assistance for community members at risk of exclusion (Kampania Przeciw Homofobii, Fundacja Transfuzja).
Equalizing social and developmental opportunities
- we provided space at our campus to Ocalenie Foundation, which conducts Polish language courses for individuals with refugee experience and those seeking international protection.
- we also carry out cyclical initiatives – every year, we are a partner of the Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy campaign, where we auction items and fan experiences. During the holiday season, we also organize internal charity auctions. The funds raised are donated to Fundacja Ocalenie.
Improving educational offerings for students and equipping schools
- we donated IT equipment (approx. 250 units of monitors/PCs/laptops) to Fundacja Ocalenie, Fundacja A.R.T, Fundacja Code Your Path, Fundacja Sarigto, and directly to schools;
Volunteering
- Our employees engage in volunteer initiatives for the Ronald McDonald Foundation (creating stage designs for WUM hospital patients, workshops for children in wards), Fundacja A.R.T (thematic meetings for seniors, visits to CDPR and playing video games together), the “Dom przy Jagiellońskiej” Care Facility (Children’s Day gifts, Christmas packages, and playing video games together), and Schronisko pod Psim Aniołem in Falenica (cleaning, painting, and dog walks).
Humanitarian aid, excluding any and all military initiatives
- support related to the Russian aggression against Ukraine – donation to the Polish Humanitarian Action and regular financial aid to the Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation for the purchase of power generators and medical equipment for civilians.
- initiative in cooperation with 11 bit studio and PAH (Polish Humanitarian Action) – “Polish gamedev for people affected by floods in Poland.”
We do not support…
- organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, skin color, creed, sex, religion, age, national origin or sexual orientation
- organizations that violate the law or have a negative impact on the environment
- political organizations, election committees or persons holding public office
- for-profit organizations seeking advertising or promotional support
