Looking back at Promised Land Art Festival 2017

CD PROJEKT RED, creators of The Witcher series of games, the city of Łódź, Poland and EC1 Łódź, present the highlights of this year’s Promised Land — the festival uniting creative industry professionals from around the world.

The event kicked off on September 2nd with Open Day — a time dedicated to artists looking to start their career in the creative industry, as well as entertainment enthusiasts eager to go behind the scenes of some of the biggest games, films, and works of art. With an entire day’s worth attractions led by renowned Polish industry professionals, the tickets for Open Day were sold out days in advance.

The main event followed a day later on September 3rd. This year, the halls of EC1 Łódź welcomed nearly 500 creative industry artists and professionals from 23 countries and played host to:

  • 50 hours of lectures, discussion panels, and Meet the Artist sessions;
  • 30 hours of workshops and masterclasses in digital art using cutting-edge creative software;
  • 12 hours of sculpting workshops with world-renowned Tomek Radziewicz, Aris Kolokontes, and Romain van Den Bogaert;
  • 18 hours of live drawing sessions with professional models.

Leading and collaborating in all these were more than 50 speakers from some of the most recognizable names in games, films and lifestyle, including members of Guerrilla Games, Platige Image, Blizzard Entertainment, Industrial Light & Magic, Sean Daniel Company, Ubisoft, Converse, and CD PROJEKT RED.
