Carbon footprint

At the CD PROJEKT Group we measure and disclose our carbon footprint in three so-called Scopes (1, 2 and 3) which, together, reflect our impact on the environment. The carbon footprint is the sum of all greenhouse gas emissions produced – directly or indirectly – by the company. It covers direct emissions, such as combustion of fuels, but also indirect emissions, e.g. related to production of electrical and thermal energy consumed in our activities, or to emissions from use of our products. The carbon footprint is expressed in terms of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e), and measured in tons (tCO2e). It is calculated in accordance with the requirements of the GHG Protocol

Calculated scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions are consolidated on the basis of operational control at the CD PROJEKT Group, thus accounting for 100% of emissions generated throughout the Group.

Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG emissions at the CD PROJEKT Group

In 2023 we defined Scope 1 and 2 reduction goals for the CD PROJEKT Group and identified possible reduction activities in areas where the bulk of our emissions is produced.

Our goal is to achieve a 42% reduction in direct Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions
at the CD PROJEKT Group by 2030, compared to 2023 baseline figures
– in line with the Paris Agreement (1.5 oC reduction target).

The Scope 1 and 2 GHG reduction goal is absolute and covers all operations of the CD PROJEKT Group. It is being pursued in accordance with the CD PROJEKT Environmental Policy and the Group’s Decarbonization Plan, which names areas where the largest reductions can be achieved, and identifies activities which enable the Group to meet its reduction goal.

In 2025 we achieved a significant reduction in Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions compared to 2023 figures. Our absolute reduction goal (as calculated using the market-based approach for Scopes 1 and 2) was exceeded by 55%. This outcome was enabled by implementing a key decarbonization activity proposed for the Group, i.e. purchasing electrical energy from renewable sources at CD PROJEKT’s Warsaw campus.

Detailed information concerning the CD PROJEKT Group’s carbon footprint can be found in our 2025 sustainability report (which is part of the Management Board report on CD PROJEKT Group’s activities in 2025).
