Carbon footprint

The CD PROJEKT Group measures and discloses its carbon footprint in three scopes (1, 2 and 3) which together reflect the extent of our impact on the environment. Carbon footprint is defined as the aggregate emissions of green- house gases caused – directly or indirectly – by the company. It covers both direct emissions, such as burning fuels, but also indirect emissions – e.g., in the process of generating electrical and heat energy as well as emissions from the use of sold products. Carbon footprint is expressed as carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e), with a ton of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO2e) being its basic unit. It is calculated in accordance with the requirements of the GHG Protocol.

We consolidated the results of Scope 1 and 2 emission calculations using the operational control criterion at the CD PROJEKT Group level, thus including 100% of the GHG Protocol emissions generated within the Group. For Scope 3 emissions, the results cover CD PROJEKT Group companies in Poland.

CD PROJEKT Group’s 2023-2024 carbon footprint

In 2023 we set Scope 1 and 2 reduction goals for the CD PROJEKT Group. We also identified potential actions which would lead to reduction of emissions in areas where our emissions are the highest.

Our goal is to achieve a reduction in absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions

for the CD PROJEKT’s Group as a whole by 42% by 2030, compared to the 2023 baseline value,

which is consistent with the Paris Agreement (1,5oC target)

Our Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions reduction target is absolute and covers all operational activities of the CD PROJEKT Group. We are pursuing this target in accordance with the provisions of the CD PROJEKT Environmental Policy and the Group’s Decarbonization Plan, which identifies areas with the greatest potential for emission reduction and outlines actions designed to lower the Group’s emissions to the defined level.

Detailed information regarding the CD PROJEKT Group’s carbon footprint can be found in the 2024 Sustainability Statement.
