The Warsaw Business Journal weekly presented CD Projekt RED with a prestigious award in the International Success Story 2007 category in recognition of the company''s introducing Poland to the international games industry. The reason for this is of course the success of the computer game "The Witcher".
The "International Success Story 2007" is one of the four prestigious awards presented by WBJ this year; these accolades go to unique Polish companies that excel in their activities regardless of the field they operate in, which makes it all the more valuable for the computer games'' trade. Michał Kiciński, CD Projekt Chairman of the Board, received the award on behalf of the company.
"We''re honoured by this award and we consider this to be an enormous grace" - said Michał Kiciński. "The award is all the more important due to the fact that it originates outside of the computer games trade, which means that our success is large enough to be noticed outside the business. This shows the scale of the Witcher''s Polish and international success, with its sales of over six hundred thousand copies in just three months following the games'' premiere. This award makes us believe even stronger that we''re heading in the right direction. What''s more, the Witcher is just our debut and we believe that we can achieve even more, as we''ve only begun spreading our wings."
